Spend a week in Downtown Grapevine at a hands-on interactive camp where you'll learn about color theory, light, perspective, camera mechanics, and more... all while creating amazing images of the things YOU enjoy!

Activities include photo walks, walkable field trips, scavenger hunts, games, art projects, and more.

Learning photography gives kids more than just camera skills. Through hands-on exploration, campers build creativity, confidence, and focus while learning to see the world in new ways. Photography encourages patience, problem-solving, and storytelling, while also helping students express themselves and develop basic technology skills. Best of all, it sparks curiosity and provides a fun, creative outlet that can grow with them long after camp ends!

FAQs

 AGE RANGE

👦  The photography lessons are super fun and perfect for kids 8-14. Challenges are open-ended, allowing me to help each child succeed regardless of experience, age, or camera type. If your child is outside of this age range, please email me to ask if/how we can accommodate them in a way that makes them comfortable and successful. We welcome students of all abilities!

 CAMERAS

📸  Campers will provide their own camera + memory card and bring them home each day. Any camera will work! Cell phone cameras are perfectly acceptable, but I will have the students keep their device in airplane mode during class hours.

 DATES & CAPACITY

🗓️  Each session can accommodate 8-12 campers. New dates will not be added until all existing sessions fill up. There will not be a full-day option.

 ETHICS & MORE

🌎  We will abide by the Golden Rule this summer! In addition to copyright and consent conversations, campers will learn to respect and encourage one another as they grow in their art form. There will be time for each person to give and receive feedback and affirmation each dayGallery Night is strictly celebratory, but for those who would like to enter competition, Laura will provide information about the 2026 State Fair of Texas contests.

 GALLERY NIGHT

Part of my mission at Laura Kellerman Studio is helping people appreciate PRINTED photography! Campers will learn how to create AND display photographic artwork. On Friday, July 24, 2026 students and families from all 5 sessions will gather to the studio-turned-gallery and appreciate the art and artists. Dress up, take pictures, and celebrate your famous photographer!
