CALLING ALL JUNIOR PHOTOGRAPHERS!
Spend a week in Downtown Grapevine at a hands-on interactive camp where you'll learn about color theory, light, perspective, camera mechanics, and more... all while creating amazing images of the things YOU enjoy! Did you know that ANY type of camera can be used to capture fantastic photos?
Each day of the four-day camp will focus on a different photography genre, and campers who sign up for two weeks will build on the skills they've already learned!
The camps will culminate in a fancy GALLERY NIGHT where your art pieces will be on display so friends and family can OOOOHHHH and AAAAAHHHHH at your talent.
Laura can also assist campers in entering their images in the Big Tex Creative Arts competition should they choose to do so!
SOLD OUT
WHAT AGES CAN ATTEND? The lessons and fun are perfect for ages 8-12. If your Junior Photographer falls outside that group, feel free to reach out and we can discuss their individual circumstance.
WHO PROVIDES THE CAMERA? Campers will provide their own camera and bring it home each day. Any camera will work! Cell phone cameras are acceptable, but I ask that any internet access be restricted or disabled during camp hours.
WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE COST? The $180 session cost includes snacks, printed photographic materials, camp t-shirt, and Gallery Night tickets + artwork voucher 😉.
CAN WE SIGN UP FOR MORE THAN ONE SESSION? Yes! If one camper wants to attend both sessions, their second week will include greater challenges that build on what they've already learned. The total cost for two sessions is discounted to $325. You can sign up for sessions 1 & 2 or 1 & 3, but I will not be able to accommodate campers for 2 & 3 this year.
WHAT IS GALLERY NIGHT? Part of my mission is helping people in 2022 appreciate PRINTED photography! Campers will learn the best ways to create AND display photographic artwork. The studio will be transformed into a showroom where each family can use their voucher to 'purchase' their favorite work of art. All are welcome to dress up, take pictures, and I recommend celebrating the artist afterwards with a trip to JudyPie or Rocket Fizz!
CAN YOU PHOTOGRAPH MY CHILD? I do plan to share candid pictures of our days, but I would also love the opportunity to create my own artwork with the camper as the subject! Let me know if you'd like to see your own child on display at Gallery Night.
ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR KILLING TIME DURING CAMP? Visiting Grapevine during the summer is a joy. There are plenty of things to do within a 10-minute radius of the studio... including walking distance! I'm down the street from The Palace Theater which offers a summer movie series on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10 a.m. Or take younger siblings swimming at the beloved Dove Waterpark. You can also hit up shopping at Southlake Town Square, Grapevine Mills Mall, and Bass Pro Shops. If you want a place to sit and work remotely, Harvest Hall is the perfect spot just a short walk down the block!
