CALLING ALL
JUNIOR PHOTOGRAPHERS!

Spend a week in Downtown Grapevine at a hands-on interactive camp where you'll learn about color theory, light, perspective, camera mechanics, and more... all while creating amazing images of the things YOU enjoy!

Each day of the four-day camp will focus on a different photography genre, and those who stay for the afternoon session will learn practical and creative Adobe Photoshop techniques to take their images to the next level.

Your final artwork will be on display at a fancy summer GALLERY NIGHT where friends and family can OOOOHHHH and AAAAAHHHHH at your talent.

Laura can also assist campers in entering their images in the Big Tex Creative Arts competition should they choose to do so. In 2022, ALL FOUR rookie campers who entered their photographs received awards for their work and were put on display at at the State Fair of Texas!

ALL THE INFO

 AGE RANGE

👦  The photography lessons are super fun and perfect for kids age 8-14. Challenges are open-ended, allowing me to help each child succeed regardless of experience, age, or camera type. My afternoon Photoshop class is best suited for students aged 10-15 who are proficient in basic computer skills. If your child is outside of either range, please email me to see if/how we can accommodate in a way that makes them comfortable and successful.

 CLASS COMBO

🍕 You can sign up for any combination of sessions. There is a discount for those signing up for both classes in the same week. Students staying for photography and Photoshop can bring a lunch for a supervised break. Depending on the number of all-day students, I may arrange for food delivery and send out a signup in advance!

 CAMERAS

📸  Campers will provide their own camera and bring it home each day. Any camera will work! Cell phone cameras are perfectly acceptable, but I will have the students keep their device in airplane mode during class hours.

 GALLERY NIGHT

Part of my mission is helping people in 2023 appreciate PRINTED photography! Campers will learn how to create AND display photographic artwork. On Friday, July 28 students, families, and the public will gather to the studio-turned-gallery and appreciate the art and artists. Dress up, take pictures, and celebrate your famous photographer!

 LAPTOPS

🧑‍💻  For the afternoon Photoshop class, campers will provide their own laptop or iPad that is compatible with Adobe Creative Cloud. The Sunday before your camp, I will send instructions for installing a free 7-day trial. Please research your device compatibility before registering, or email me for guidance.

 ETHICS & MORE

🌎  We will abide by the Golden Rule this summer! In addition to copyright and consent conversations, campers will learn to respect and encourage one another as they grow in their art form. There will be time for each person to give and receive feedback and affirmation each dayGallery Night is strictly celebratory, but for those who would like to enter competition, Laura will help facilitate entries at the 2023 State Fair of Texas.
